I’m Kororosuke, who enjoys exploring concept cafes! //
Allow me to introduce a Chinese × Jiangshi (Hopping Vampire) concept cafe & bar located just 2-3 minutes’ walk from Ikebukuro East Exit.
A Phantom Inn Connecting to the World of the Dead is the Concept
The concept, “Yuugen Sakaba” (Phantom Inn), means an inn that connects to the world of the dead.
Customers are called “Daoists,” and the staff are called “Jiangshi” (Hopping Vampires). Just hearing this concept is enchanting. Combined with the atmosphere inside, as soon as you step into the restaurant, you feel like you’ve entered a different world, so authentic is the ambiance.
Adorable Chinese Dresses
The Chinese dresses were divided into top and bottom, available in three colors: blue, red, and black. Everyone looked great in them, making the uniforms one of the highlights!! When I visited this Yuugen Sakaba, it reminded me of when I was in elementary school and was obsessed with a character called “Shampoo” from Ranma 1/2. I asked my parents to buy me a Chinese dress and wore it. Although I felt it didn’t suit me back then, seeing the Jiangshi staff beautifully dressed in cute Chinese dresses at Yuugen Sakaba made me think, “Chinese dresses are indeed too cute!” ♡ Be sure to see for yourself.
The quality of the Jiangshi characters is also very impressive! Among such a different world and high-quality characters, the food here is highly praised in reviews for being delicious, and when I tried it myself, it was indeed amazing! I felt like I had found the perfect place.
Enjoyable with Children
This place is very rare as it’s a cafe where you can bring your children along, so you can enjoy together. Some may feel a little anxious about bringing their children, but the staff here are very kind to children, so you can rest assured. On days when you’re thinking of dining out with your children, why not let them experience a different world at Yuugen Sakaba? It might be a good idea to try spending a fun time with the staff there. It’s really rare to find a cafe where you can enjoy with your children, so why not spend some enjoyable time here with your family? Of course, it’s a place where you can enjoy even if you come alone, so I think it’s a place where various people can have fun.
I think it’s quite Instagrammable, so taking some Instagram-worthy photos, chatting with the staff, fully enjoying the interior, enjoying delicious food, and spending time here are all great options. Please find your favorite way to spend time here. It might become one of those places that captivate you and make you want to come back again.
