Do you remember the first maid café that Hayato visited?
The first one I visited was At home Cafe. I still can’t forget the impact it had on me.
A Famous Spot in Akihabara Known to All
“At home Cafe Akihabara Main Store” is a well-known, long-established maid café loved by all maid café enthusiasts. Conveniently located just a 3-minute walk from JR Akihabara Station, it boasts excellent accessibility. Since its opening in 2003, it has enjoyed unwavering popularity over the years.
I still vividly remember my first visit. As soon as I opened the door, I was greeted with a chorus of “Welcome, Master!” which was quite a surprise (laughs). The interior, with its pink wallpaper and lace curtains, was stylish and felt like stepping into a dream maid café straight out of a screen.
The café maintains a policy of not handing out flyers or soliciting customers, striving to create a serene environment. This policy has contributed to improving the image of maid cafés, attracting extensive media coverage, and helping the café surpass 3 million visitors. The customers range widely, welcoming people of all ages and from all over the world.
Concepts for Each Floor from the 3rd to the 7th Floor
The interior is unified with a pastel tone, giving it a bright and clean appearance. In the cozy atmosphere dominated by pink, you can enjoy the service of the maids. The café also features a stage where you can enjoy live performances by the maids.
The café spans from the 3rd to the 7th floor, with each floor offering a different ambiance. Various maids are stationed on each floor, adhering to their unique concepts.
Hospitality Overflowing with the Maids’ Spirit of Service
The greatest charm of “@home café” is undoubtedly the maids’ high level of service spirit. I particularly love the warm atmosphere where every customer is called “Master” or “Princess.” Since its opening, the café has been providing services such as the “Moe Moe~♪” chants and infusing drinks with “love power.”
With their radiant smiles, the maids pour drinks and explain the menu in detail, always putting the customers first, making you feel like you’re having a special time. The café also offers plenty of amusements like photo sessions and games, and the maids’ excellent customer service skills are well-regarded.
One of my long-standing pleasures is having a brief conversation with the maids when they bring my order or during checkout. Even after a busy day at work, chatting with the smiling maids provides a moment of healing for my heart.
The maids wear classic maid uniforms. They follow a ranking system where their outfits and ribbon colors vary based on their experience and popularity. They start as trainee maids, then progress to full maids, premium maids, super premium maids, and finally legend maids. Additionally, some maids have undergone English training to cater to foreign customers.
At home Cafe Pricing and Menu
The pricing system includes separate charges for menu items and an entrance fee. The entrance fee is ¥780 for adults, ¥450 for seniors (60+), ¥670 for university students, ¥560 for high school students, ¥450 for elementary and middle school students, and free for children under elementary school age.
You can’t miss the original menu items here. The desserts, adorned with cute illustrations drawn by the maids, are not only visually appealing but also delicious! Enjoying the “Piyo Piyo Piyo♪ Little Chick Rice” while chatting with the maids is the best experience.
They also offer value course menus like drink courses, dessert courses, food courses, and full courses. You can enjoy board games with the maids or have commemorative photo sessions. Sharing these photos on social media often makes friends envious, creating special and memorable private moments.
