There’s a place in Kyoto called **Chicchai Mono Club** that’s themed around “your friend’s house from middle school” as a café and bar!

No way, there’s a place like that? Sounds interesting! Kind of nostalgic, right?

Yeah, they run it as a maid café during the daytime on weekends and holidays. Girls in maid outfits welcome you, and it’s really cozy, so even if it’s your first time in a concept café, it’s easy to enjoy.

That sounds like something even I would enjoy. I want to check it out!
“Let’s Chill at My Friend’s Place!” – A Space to Enjoy Different Vibes Day and Night
Chicchai Mono Club is a café and bar with the theme “your friend’s house from middle school,” offering different atmospheres by day and night. On weekends and holidays, it’s a maid café where charming maids greet you warmly. It feels like visiting a friend’s place, so it’s comfortable even for first-timers.
At night, the space transforms into a bar that’s only accessible through membership, referrals, or companionship. The lighting dims, creating a whole new vibe, and the girls’ outfits become a bit more mature, adding a touch of excitement. However, you’ll need a membership card to enter at night, so enjoy the experience like you’re hanging out at a friend’s place.
A Laid-Back Bar Space, Just Like Home
The nighttime atmosphere is all about relaxing and drinking at your own pace. There’s a variety of drinks, and while it has a bar-like ambiance, you can enjoy it casually. Some days have food, and some don’t – just like you’d expect at a friend’s place. Enjoy the memories of those days when you needed permission to stay out late.
Chicchai Mono Club offers a range of board games, making it fun whether you’re there solo or with friends. There are plenty of events too, so you can dive into your favorite games or join the activities. You can also enjoy playing with the staff, so don’t hesitate to strike up a conversation for a good time.
Enjoy a Relaxed Time, Like Hanging Out with Friends
Although the nighttime space is usually for members, on Thursdays and Sundays, non-members are welcome. Bring along a friend with a membership or join the special days to enjoy a unique night! They often have guest staff, so you might have the chance to experience something different. There’s more alcohol than you might expect, so you can spend your time in a casual bar-like environment.
Chicchai Mono Club is the only concept café and bar in Kyoto themed around “your friend’s house from middle school.” You can unwind, drink, and have a fun time, whether you’re chatting with the staff or enjoying games with friends. It’s all about a relaxed, friendly experience – come by and spend some great moments!
