Turning Dreams into Reality: The Revolutionary Cat Café
A café with an unprecedented presence has opened in Shinjuku’s Kabukicho district. But this isn’t just a place with pretty faces. Every single cast member here is an active creator—renowned cosplayers, photoshoot models, idols, gravure talents, and influencers. Over 80% of the cast are top-tier cosplayers with massive followings. People you could previously only admire through social media, magazines, or events now appear before you, smiling in real life like personified cats who’ve leapt into your world—it’s a surreal and heart-lifting experience.
What makes this café truly unique is that every aspect—from production and design to daily operations—was created by the cast themselves. With gravure model and talent Mai Shirata as producer and corporate cosplayer Aya Haise as general producer, this project brings together a diverse group including cosplayers, doujin artists, designers, and former concept café owners. Their collective experience, taste, and aesthetic have shaped a “completely self-produced concept café” from the ground up.
The core concept is “a place where personified cats welcome their master.” But it’s far more than just wearing cat ears. The cast brings their characters to life through their costumes, behavior, and speech styles—each detail designed to showcase their individual charm. It’s like a colorful cat house where various breeds of feline-inspired personalities gather, each standing out as a one-of-a-kind “oshi” (favorite) for every guest.
Every Cast Member Is the Star of the Show
To describe this café, the term “pretty face” doesn’t even scratch the surface. These girls aren’t just cute—they are expressive artists who connect with the world through their creative work. All cast members are “active performers.” Whether on stage, on social media, in gravure, livestreaming, or photoshoots, they each have a strong presence and a loyal fan base. In other words, they’re not just used to being seen—they excel at captivating their audience.
This café is one of the rare places where you can encounter their genuine charm up close. It’s not something you can experience through a screen—the tone of their voices, subtle gestures, and the atmosphere itself are what bring their appeal to life. Fans can feel the emotional “temperature” and heartbeat of their favorites, making this a truly irreplaceable destination. It’s not just customer service—it feels like visiting a piece of their everyday life. That’s the essence that lingers in the air here.
The café carries a hidden theme: “a place where performers and fans can meet.” The cast values their own projects while gathering here to express themselves, connect with supporters, and spark new beginnings. In a way, this café serves both as a stage for encounters and a studio for creating the future. It’s a place where you can witness the daily evolution of these creators and discover something new every time you visit.
A Self-Driven Space Filled with Style and Soul
The café is packed with the cast’s personal taste and commitment in every detail. From the costume colors and intricate decorations to the arrangement of background panels, logo design, and even menu layout—everything was built on the premise that “we make it ourselves.” This creates a unique atmosphere unlike any other concept café. At its core lies the vibrant sensitivity of the cast themselves.
For example, the costumes maintain a unified theme while accentuating the personality of each “personified cat” character. A mischievous black cat, a modest and elegant white cat, or a quiet, artistic Russian Blue—each portrayal fuses the image of the cat with the cast member’s individual traits, producing an irreplaceable personal glow.
The menu also brims with playful creativity and flair. From drink and food names to their presentation and even the delivery catchphrases, everything is designed to delight guests. Because the cast created this world based on what they love, every element overflows with the unique essence of the café. This space isn’t the result of someone else’s script—it’s the product of their own ideas, trials, and passion.
This concept café transcends the idea of just being a place “where you go to meet someone.” It’s more accurate to call it “a space where the future is built together.” Here, performers running toward their dreams and the fans supporting them share the same moment and truly feel each other’s presence. Such a place has now emerged in the very heart of Kabukicho.
