Have you heard? There’s a haunted house-themed concept café called “Yuuyu Yashiki” that’s been getting a lot of buzz lately.
No way! I haven’t heard of it. What kind of place is it?
It’s themed around Japanese horror. The floor is covered with tatami mats, there are straw dolls nailed to the walls, and blood splatters painted on the shoji screens. It sounds terrifying, right?
Ugh, just hearing that gives me chills… But I’m intrigued! I want to go!
A Fusion of Fear and Cute! Welcome to the Japanese Horror Café
“Yuuyu Yashiki” is a unique concept café that merges horror and cuteness into one space. Located in both Akihabara, Tokyo, and Osu, Nagoya, the café has attracted many visitors, especially in Osu where its unusual atmosphere has caught people’s attention. As you enter through the eerie torii gate, the otherworldly vibe sets in immediately. The tatami mat floors, red cushions, and walls nailed with straw dolls create an immersive Japanese horror setting, far beyond a simple haunted house. The café not only appeals to horror fans but also adds a cute “moe” twist to the experience.
The café’s biggest attraction is its ghostly cast dressed in traditional Japanese-style outfits. These ghostly girls, donning cute pink miniskirts, offer a unique blend of scariness and cuteness. Their characters are built around lingering grudges, but their personalities are surprisingly cheerful, welcoming customers with bright smiles. This strange contrast creates a captivating and emotional experience for visitors. As you enjoy time with these ghostly hosts, you’ll find yourself in a thrilling mix of fear and cuteness, making for an unforgettable visit.
A Haunted Atmosphere with Immersive Detail!
The interior of “Yuuyu Yashiki” is filled with carefully curated horror elements. Designed to look like an old Japanese mansion, the café has tatami floors, red cushions, and straw dolls nailed to the walls. Blood splatters are painted on the shoji screens, adding to the eerie atmosphere. The attention to detail makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another era or dimension, with every corner of the café offering a spooky photo opportunity. Many visitors enjoy taking Instagram-worthy shots in front of the shrine-style objects and torii gates. This café’s one-of-a-kind design ensures a unique experience you won’t find anywhere else.
For those looking to indulge, the café offers an all-you-can-drink plan for 3,000 yen for 40 minutes, making it a popular choice. With a wide variety of alcoholic and soft drinks available, every customer can find something to enjoy.
Unforgettable Moments with Charming Ghosts
The ghostly cast members are lively and full of personality, making them a delightful contrast to the spooky setting. Their mix of charm and eeriness is why so many visitors become repeat customers. At “Yuuyu Yashiki,” you can also take a polaroid with the ghostly staff, creating a memorable keepsake. The photo will feature backgrounds filled with straw dolls and blood splatters, a unique twist on the typical café photo experience. It’s the perfect way to create lasting memories with friends.
Located in Nagoya’s Osu district, known for its many concept cafés, “Yuuyu Yashiki” stands out for its combination of horror and “moe.” Its location near Osu Kannon Temple makes it an easy stop for tourists, and its unique charm has gained it attention from visitors nationwide. The moment we entered through the torii gate and into the tatami room, the atmosphere was more eerie than I expected. The straw dolls and the blood splatters on the shoji screens were so realistic, it made my heart race a little.
The horror vibe was intense, but the ghostly cast members were so cute! They were dressed in pink kimono-style miniskirts, and even though it’s a haunted house theme, they weren’t scary at all—so friendly!
